Kaathal Nanaiththa Nilavu

I am always fascinated by the great works of Raja Ravivarma-right from my college days!CrazyMohan & I used to go treasure hunting for RRV's reprints in the narrow lanes of "padak kadaith theru" in Broadway, shop by shop. This painting of Radha & Krishna on the banks of the Silvery moon litYamuna is one of RRV's masterpieces . Strangely Krishna is not painted dark; Perhaps, the Black Yamuna & Krishna have both been bathed in the Silver Sheen of the Full Moon and changed their colours!

ARIVUK KANALE ARUT PUNALE!

My poet friend Ka.Ravi used to say that while Sri.Ramakrishna Parama Hamsa was outwardly
a Bakthiman and inwardly a Great Gnanavaan, Swami Vivekananda was outwardly a Vedanthic Gnani whose inner core was soaked in Bakthi.
I drew their pictures capturing the ecstacy of Gurumaharaj and the sharp gaze of Swamiji in these Pencil sketches. These were completed on two successive nights, taking about 15 minutes each.

MAHATHMA

As part of Pune darshan visit, we had been to Agakhan Palace where Mahathma was kept under arrest along with his secretary & his wife Kasthurba. Gandhiji had lost both of them during that period. We paid our respectful homage to the great souls in silence & tears. This pencil sketch is a recap on that visit.

Jai Hanuman

I enjoyed drawing this sketch of Anjaneya in a contemplting mood.

In the words of my esteemed friend Poet Ramanan, we sing together:

" Jai hanuman , Jai hanuman!

Jai maruthi sri Jai hanuman"

Sai baba of Shirdi

When ever I attempt a sketch of Shirdi Baba, I get only the concerned look on his countenance.

This Pencil sketch is no exception.
On completion of the sketch, this venpa came instantaneously.
