Nei Abishekap Piriyan

In between two oil Paintings it is refreshing to attempt a quick Pencil/Pen work or a Water painting. This poster colour/Acrylic work on Paper was done betwee the "Nala damayanthi" & "Rage of Rama". Only metallic /yellow & blue are predominantly used to depict the Santha Swaroopan Iyyappan's Thavak kolam. Also , you find the Ayyppan Namaskaaraslokam written by me in Tamil (in the year 1986) adopting the Chandas of 8 EzuththuppaL /paadham used in the original sanskrit Namaskara Slokam. The last stanza addresses Ayyappa as "Buutha Naathaa" & " Deva devaa".

Later, when I had the opportunity to read a rare Ayyappa- Navagraha Slokam in Tamil written in KattaLaik kaliththuRai (supposedly composed by HH Agasthya Maharishi, I was delighted & surprized to see the same Prayoogam in the last stanza " Boothanaathaa, deva devanee "..

RAGE of RAMA

I am publishing two versions of this RRV remake. The first one - a water colour on drawing sheet done in the 1980's and the second one done in Sep 08 -an oil on canvass.

It is interesting to observe the changes in my perception of colours, expressions & execution over these years..
